Who
we are

Welcome to Northern Roots Soil Solution - Not Your Average Agronomy Service

At Northern Roots, we believe thriving crops start with thriving soil — and that takes more than conventional agronomy. We're not just here to sell seed or write prescriptions. We’re here to dig deeper, bringing together agronomy, biology, and practical farm systems to create healthier soil, stronger yields, and more resilient farms.

Co-founded by Claire Coombs, Certified Crop Advisor, and Laura Neill, Soil Health & Field Advisor, we offer a boots-on-the-ground, microscope-in-hand approach that blends real-world agronomy with soil biology and regenerative thinking.

Our backgrounds are different — and that’s our strength. Claire brings over a decade of agronomy experience and deep field knowledge. Laura adds expertise in biological systems, government lab work (CFIA and Environment Canada), Agricultural tile drainage, seed sales, and marketing — plus hands-on farming experience and certification as a drone pilot.

Together, we bring an unconventional but deeply practical approach to helping farmers build healthier soils and more profitable operations.
